Audi: Scoring big at World Car of the Year award

The Audi TT was named "World Car Design of the Year" and the Audi RS4 won the title as "World Performance Car". Congrats! Audi took top honors in two other categories. Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition Car Wallpapers

If you are a fan like me and love the Transformers movie, Bumblebee and a Chevy camaro, then you will pleased to know that General Motors has launched today the Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition at the Comic-Con in San Diego. The Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition is powered by the V6 engine which offers a 29 mpg fuel economy on the highway and comes equipped with Bluetooth, USB connectivity, XM Satellite Radio and OnStar.

The car is distinguished with its Rally Yellow paint job and black stripes, as well as other movie-related AUTOBOT features such as AUTOBOT shields on the driver and passenger side panels, on the wheel's center cap and center console.

The Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition package can also be fitted on the L99 V8 powered SS model.

What are we up to now? Ten? Twenty teasers for the 2010 Ford Mustang? We've lost count and, frankly, lost interest in playing this game. The latest teaser seen above came out Thursday morning, and we're just now forcing ourselves to post it. It shows off the center console and shifter — a lot like the teaser that came two weeks ago also showing the shifter. We'll be glad when the car is uncovered at the LA Auto Show so the constant stream of snippets comes to an end.

Hummer H4 is Coming

It’s been rumored for some time, but now it seems the rumors are true. GM is going to debut a Hummer H4 concept vehicle at the Detroit auto show this January. Obviously, details weren’t released, but our best guess on the specifics of the future Hummer is that it will be a smaller SUV than the midsize H3, to take on the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota FJ Cruiser. Since the H3 is still selling at a brisk pace it seems downsizing the Hummer brand isn’t a bad trend to follow.

Like other outlets, we too received a special "CONFIDENTIAL" package via DHL from Ford SVT this morning. Inside was a CD with the following video clip of the Ford F-150 Raptor being put through its paces in some unnamed desert. Looks like the truck is able to gobble up some pretty serious terrain at some pretty serious speeds. It's a good thing it seems to performs like a champ too, as dealers were urged at the Las Vegas product preview to "drive this right up Toyota's ass."

I was just doing my rounds on the blogs I visit daily, one of them is the blog that Jon Sibal runs. He posts about his cars, internet finds and about his work as a illustrator. Today I was greeted by these pictures of the Spirant 180SX that Jon dug up somewhere. This 180 is one of my favorites together with the one that Koguchi build and Antonio featured here on Speedhunters.

Honda <i>will</i> be in Detroit, sans press conference

The latest sign that the 2009 Detroit Auto Show could quite possibly suck is Honda's decision not to throw any press conferences. The Japanese automaker still plans to unveil the production Insight hybrid, but will do so by simply adding its Prius-killer to the show floor with the rest of its line-up.

The move comes one day after Nissan and Infiniti pulled out of Detroit all-together, which followed dropouts by Porsche, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Ferrari, Land Rover and Rolls-Royce. Honda doesn't want to spend big bucks on live introductions with special effects and big-time travel budgets when the U.S. auto market is in the crapper. The Japanese brand won't roll out any press conferences in Chicago, either. If Detroit is going to be slow, Chicago is shaping up to be a ghost town.

The question now is, who's next? The Detroit Auto Show has traditionally been the event where our Domestics bring out the big guns. With all the negative attention surrounding the financial woes of Detroit automakers, we're beginning to wonder it they too will drop the glitz and glitter. If they're getting grilled for taking a private jet to Washington, imagine the field day that would be had over big money productions that only benefit journalists.

Rendered Speculation: Toyota iQ convertible

If the new Toyota iQ is going to compete against the smart fortwo, an open-top version is going to be a necessity. We've already heard rumblings of a possible roadster based on the iQ's underpinnings, so a convertible option certainly seems possible. If renderings from Japan's Best Car are to be believed (we're not convinced), the Japanese automaker could mimic the fortwo's cabriolet style by removing the front and rear roof sections, fitting an integrated roll bar and adding a set of soft-tops.

The main advantage for the iQ has over the fortwo is the city car's extra passenger seats. Unlike the smart, Toyota's microcar manages to cram four belts into its tiny frame and a drop-top variant would make the iQ the world's smallest-ever four-seat convertible. While a credible contender to the fortwo cabrio is surely in the cards, we're still waiting to see the iQ rebadged a Scion and brought to the U.S. to truly give smart a run for its money.

Bentley released today a teaser image of a new model, called the Grand Bentley, which will be unveiled this summer. The company did not disclose much information on the new Grand Bentley, except the fact that it will exceptional in all respects on the road.

The new Grand Bentley, engineered and built in Crewe, UK, will be the "purest expression of the Bentley spirit".

I am not sure why I still find Gemma hot enough to dedicate a post to her……. but I used to think she was super tight a couple years ago when she adorned every La Senza window display (remember that campaign???). She was rocking that good girl, baby face with the body of a porno star so magically, and now……. well….. I think I still like her because she likes dark beer… Yup thats gotta be it.
